RCR is an outstanding addition to my TV/DVR shows. I've no idea how long this show has been on, but I am so very glad to have finally found it.
The show is based on the scientific redneck activity of five Southern Gentlemen (which is one of their S trilogy of rules)
From National Geographic channel site: "Meet the self-proclaimed Rocket City Rednecks. They’re five “backwoods” guys from the rocket city: Huntsville, Alabama, home to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the birthplace of the U.S. space program. Sure, they love to shoot stuff and drink beer, and one of ’em lives in a trailer, but with a family tree full of NASA rocket scientists (not to mention their own PhDs and advanced degrees), they aim a little higher—like using homemade moonshine to fuel a rocket! In each episode, we'll see how they apply redneck ingenuity with advanced engineering and physics to creatively solve real-world problems... and have a little fun, of course!"
Watching this show reminds me of one of DH's (my own Rocket Redneck) favorite sayings, "Just because I talk slow, doesn't mean I am slow." Would that the rocket scientists where I work were as hellah cool as these five and their friends.

I don't watch TV but if I did, I could totally see my hubby and I getting into this. Thanks for the heads up! Next time we stay in a hotel we will have to see if we can find it.
WonderBunny: It is well worth watching TV for this show.
I really like this show. Rockets make a great hobby for kids to work on with their parents. My Grandpa got me my first Estes Rocket Kit when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I hope this show sticks around for a while. I think it will do pretty good as long as they don’t run out of show ideas. I just found out that Directv subscribers might be missing out on Rocket City Rednecks starting on November 1st. I am happy I have DISH Network for my TV provider/employer. Last year they signed a long term agreement with the owners of the National Geographic channel.
