Books In the House!

A quiet week for the books coming in the house. The cool thing about the lone book arriving is that the above Lisa Scottoline is a signed copy, so it will stay in the house on the Keeper Shelf. It's the first in the Rosato & Associates series and Mary DiNunzio is my favorite character in Scottoline's books.

A rather nice week last week for arrivals on the doorstep. From B&N: The DVD My Name is Bruce with my boyfriend, Bruce Campbell and the DVD of Dresden Files, season only. I love this show and can't wait to have an uninterrupted day of viewing. I also received DISAPPEARING NIGHTLY - Laura Resnick, which I think is going to be next up to read.
And from BittenByBooks, the latest Mike Carey, DEAD MEN'S BOOTS I won from the interview she had with the author.

I received and bought some fun books this past week:
My buddy Marie-Louise sent the ARC of FEAR THE WORST - Linwood Barclay. She loved it and sent it on with good wishes and some prezzies for Lady K. I really look forward to this read.

From Online Publisher I received THE WOODSTOCK STORYBOOK to review. I was only 8 years old at the time, but the music resonates still.

I meandered over to Orchard Books to see if they wanted any of the 20 or so books I'd cleared from the shelves. They did and I now have $285 in trade bucks. I put a baby dent in that with:

So much for my book buying hiatus....Lady K and I went to the movies on Saturday to see G-Force, very cute and fun. Afterwards we did the usual trip to the ice cream shop for Lady K to get her raspberry sorbet on and I decided it behooved me to meander to Orchard Books to see what kind of gently used books might be on the shelves. They are in the middle of moving to new digs in the Orchard Center, so I didn't find much, but I did find TO HELL AND BACK - Lilith Saintcrow, #5 in her Dante Valentine series and CROUCHING VAMPIRE, HIDDEN FANG - Katie MacAlister, #7 in The Dark Ones series.
My dad left one more book for me. He finished it the morning he left last Monday. HELL'S BAY - James W Hall is part of the Thorn Mysteries and Dad said it's superb. Can't wait.
I was happy to see the rest of my July order from High Crimes Mystery Bookshop arrive on Friday. I can't wait to get to THE HARROWING - Alexandra Sokoloff. This one was recommended by Becky at No More Grumpy Bookseller. Ahhhhh...now to have some more reading time.....

I received some very cool books last week in the mail.
I won a signed copy of THE TROUBLE WITH DEMONS - Lisa Shearin (add link when I get home) via the interview she had with BittenByBooks in May to celebrate BBB's first birthday. TROUBLE is the third in her Raine Barnes, Seeker, series. This means that I now go shopping for books one and two.....MAGIC LOST, TROUBLE FOUND & ARMED AND MAGICAL. Yeah, I really dislike book shopping... Lisa also included a signed postcard (LOVE THESE for my bookmarks) and two signed bookmarks all from the covers of her books! Lisa has a fan for life!
