Lately I've been listening to the series as BOCDs from Recorded Books. The narrator is James Marsters (Spike from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel') and that only enhances the enjoyment don'tcha know.

I had SMALL FAVOR on the shelf and it's not available on Recorded Books yet and I was in the mood for some Dresden, so off the shelf and onto the nightstand it went.

I always wonder how Dresden does it. He always seems in the thick of things, very focused, even while getting the crap beat out of him.

Mab, Queen of the Winter Court, is one of those who likes Dresden to take care of her business and one of the reasons Dresden is in the middle of getting the crap beat out of him. She needs him to find out what's the what and it seems easy enough to solve....yeah...not so much....

My absolute favorite series or at least in the top three. It is the perfect mixture of paranormal, mystery and humor. It's also a plus that this is one of the series I share a love for with my dad and my sister. It's also the only UF series my dad completely digs.

And hopefully it's okay that I have a crush on Harry. He makes me grin, the best aphrodisiac...oh...maybe TMI...

It seems simple enought, but Harry knows better than to get caught in the middle of faerie politics. Until he finds out that the fate of the entire world rests on his solving this case. No pressure or anything....

I've been listening to James Marsters narrate Harry Dresden's files since finding out that Recorded Books carried most of the series and that James Marsters (*sigh* James Marsters). I can highly recommend this series as a fab one to listen to, especially for long distance roadtrips.

That said, I found SUMMER KNIGHT in one of the ten drawers full of books in my room after coming back from Spa Week last June and DH mentioning that he'd tidied my room....and found my stash of books in the two chest of drawers....

So I decided I'd best start clearing some of these books and SUMMER KNIGHT was one of those. It didn't hurt that I already love this series as does my sister and, amazingly, my dad. He loves the private investigator aspect more than the wizard part, but he doesn't mind the magic. I figured I could add this to the stack of books to trade with Dad for his visit next month.

Poor Harry. I don't know how he keeps going on when everything gets thrown at him and he's low on sleep and funds and patience. He keeps pushing forward, with a little help from his friends. This time it's the werewolves and teeny pixies who love pizza and Harry's faerie godmother and, of course, Murphy, Harry's Chicago PD detective bud.

I enjoy reading this series to learn more about Harry and his supernatural world. The mixture of wizardry and investigation is seamlessly blended. Harry's humor keeps me coming back for more, too. It is entirely possible I have a crush on Harry.

FOOL MOON - Jim Butcher, Book 2 Harry Dresden series

Yowzah!!! If you like your werewolves and magic in plenty, then this is a definite book for you! Harry Dresden lives in the city of Chicago in a world that does not believe in magic in any way, shapeshifter or form. Harry obviously does, he has his shingle out, Wizard for Hire.
He is called in by his police detective mostly friend, Murphy. She is lead on Special Investigations, the cases no one knows what to do with...usually ending up being magical (that no one believes in) in nature.
The call is to investigate or consult on a particularly gruesome murder scene and the only clues are rather large wolf prints...and there have been other such murder scenes in the past several months..during the full moon....see where this is going?
Harry has to do what he needs to do with his powers and his connections to the magical world to solve the murders and get the bad...um...guys......
